Barbie STEM Night at the Troy Community Center in Troy, MI
A fun-filled night of learning about programming through Tynker, CAD through the SOLIDWORKS App for Kids, and 3D printing through Every Kid Gets a Robot by Danielle Boyer. Each attendee will get the Barbie Career of the Year Robotics Engineer Doll complete with Tynker coding access and Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math coloring book pages from The STEAM Connection.
Fee is $26. Date and location are yet to be announced. The payment is due before the camp, and you will receive a confirmation with more instructions, as well as a photo-release form.
The event is capped at 25 kids, and we will notify via email you if the event has already been filled.
This event is put on by the teens from Oakland County to benefit the next generation of STEM-learners. We do not represent Barbie or Tynker.
A summer course to teach engineering design skills to 7th graders from Oakland County, Michigan. This course will cover prototyping skills, computer-aided design lessons, how to design to 3D-print, how to build a robot, reading electrical diagrams, and more. Students get to take their designs, a robot, and their own 3D-prints home. Additionally, we will be entering design competitions as a group to boost both their skills and resumes. Optional drop-in sessions will be available for competition project guidance.
Our Founder, Danielle Boyer, an inventor, author, and STEM educator will be teaching this course with her students from International Academy East. She is a graduate from Troy High School and has had her STEM work featured by many large organizations and speaks internationally on STEM education and development. Learn more.

Optional Drop-In Competition Guidance
Based on student interest, we will be entering STEM competitions as a group or as individuals. The guidelines and brainstorming sessions will be done in class, but extra guided work time will be done during these sessions. The majority of the competition work is encouraged to be done on individual time.

Each attendee will have a blast learning more about STEM and trying activities they've never tried before and will walk away with their own The STEAM Connection coloring pages.
